A stark reality of modern society is that with longer life spans and the need for grown children to work many of our parents or grandparents are in a nursing home or a similar assisted living facility. This is because we associate such facilities with safety, attentiveness and quality care. Unfortunately, however, the elderly are some of society's most vulnerable members. That's why nursing home negligence today is such a serious problem. Many of the elderly people who reside in nursing homes are simply unable to communicate instances of abuse or neglect because of physical or mental disabilities, or because they have no one to tell. Nursing home negligence can be very serious, causing significant injuries, health problems and even death.
Examples of nursing home negligence include:

Home equity scams, bogus home repair contractors, and other unscrupulous salespeople often try to take advantage of the elderly by tricking them into handing over their money for what often amounts to nothing in return.
